Colton Dixon Brings Worship to Millions on 'American Idol'
'American Idol' contestant Colton Dixon kicked off the live performance show with the worship song "Everything" by Lifehouse. The emotionally packed performance was his “favorite worship song of all time.”
Dixon, again, brought his love of God center stage to the millions of viewers that tune in weekly to see the contestants perform on the secular TV show.
This week was especially important as the nine contestants were tasked with choosing songs from their own personal idols for tonight’s episode. And Colton delivered in Christ-loving fashion with a worship tune that was delivered beautifully.

With his solid worship roots that began at church, Dixon's emotional performance, and his vocals rose and fell perfectly with the song’s tempo. To top it off, in honor of our Lord and Savior, he finished the song on his knees -- on live TV in front of MILLIONS!
We can image God cheering in Heaven. The crowd and the judges also loved the performance. Steven Tyler told the 20 year old, “You are a dream come true for a judge on ‘Idol’… You make the song bleed, you’ve got perfect pitch and you’ve got that star quality.” Jennifer Lopez said “You sang it beautifully and you sang it with so much emotion, but still with composure and control.” Randy Jackson added that the most important thing an artist can have is “believability,” and that Dixon’s got that and then some.
It's such a blessing to see God working through people like Colton Dixon in the music industry, combined with sports figures like Jeremy Lin in the NBA and Tim Tebow in the NFL. God is clearly at work. Praise HIM!
